A meeting from the LET’S TALK DESIGN series took place at the Balma showroom in Warsaw on Thursday, May 21st. The special guest of the event was designer Maja Ganszyniec, who addressed the theme of mindfulness and responsibility in designing contemporary workspaces. With our series of meetings, we are breaking the mold of traditional product presentations, thereby creating a space for authentic dialogue. At Balma, we believe that the best solutions are born at the intersection of three perspectives: the designer's vision, the manufacturer's technological know-how, and the architect's daily implementation practice. The May meeting proved just how much the industry needs such a structured, purely substantive exchange of experiences.
The main highlight of the program was Maja's keynote speech, in which she shared the behind-the-scenes challenges of a product's journey "from idea to implementation". The panel discussion accompanying the presentation, featuring invited experts – Marketing Director Ania and the Director of the Balma Showroom in Warsaw, Adam – opened a lively debate on difficult compromises between bold creative expression and restrictive strength standards and certification of office furniture. Another crucial topic was the "honesty of materials" in the context of neuroarchitecture, alongside the question of how to design timeless objects in an era of overproduction that, thanks to their quality, will endure for decades.
The official part of the event concluded with a gift draw, which seamlessly opened up the floor for informal conversations and networking.
