Nature has been an important inspiration in the contemporary design. Why?
Although most of us live in cities and spend more and more time in enclosed
areas, nature still plays an important role in our lives. Modern science does
confirm the words said by Hippocrates, the founder of medicine, that “natural
forces are the true healers of disease”, and the contact with nature is a
prerequisite for our physical and mental health. We often treat plants present in office interiors only as decorative
elements, however, their significance goes much beyond that. Nowadays, plants
are an integral element of arranging areas to work, study and cure. Thanks to
greenery, we are healthier and simply … happier.
How colour works?
Deciding which colours to choose for interiors is significant, because it is colours that create the right ambience for the place. It takes great skill to use colours wisely. It requires the knowledge not only of their optical impact, but also of culture and psychology. Colours can make a room appear larger or smaller, they also have their symbolic meanings and they can affect our emotions and mood
Louis Lhoest, a Dutch expert, together with several Warsaw architects and media representatives met in Balma Showroom in Warsaw on 14 June to talk about the megatrends as well as the idea of Activity-Based Working and to see the latest concept of the brand. That event has proved that the new address on the map of the capital of Poland is not just a shop, but, instead, it is a perfect venue for business and creative meetings and a well-designed showroom and functional working space.
