Official EPD Certificates Issued for Balma Furniture

At Balma, we have long prioritized conscious design and environmental responsibility. We are therefore proud to announce the publication of official Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certificates for four of our primary product categories.

Official EPD certificates have been awarded to:

Workstations and tables
Storage furniture
Seating and lounge furniture
Bbox acoustic pods

The certificates were issued by the renowned Building Research Institute (ITB) – a founding member of the international ECO Platform organization.

What are EPD declarations and why are they crucial?

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is an independently verified, transparent document providing a precise and measurable assessment of a product's environmental impact. These declarations are based on a detailed Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) conducted in accordance with the rigorous European standard EN 15804+A2.

Through LCA, the entire lifespan of a furniture piece is evaluated – from raw material extraction, through manufacturing processes and logistics, to end-use, recyclability, and disposal.
