As part of strengthening our collaboration with Stena Recycling, we had the opportunity to visit their branch in Czerwonak and take a closer look at what professional waste management looks like in practice.
We have an ongoing partnership with Stena Recycling focused on the responsible handling of waste. The Czerwonak facility we visited receives various types of waste from us, including:
– paper and cardboard waste,
– plastic waste,
– packaging waste.
All waste delivered by Balma is meticulously sorted according to strict standards and then sent for further processing — including recycling, paper mills, incineration plants, and RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) facilities.
RDF installations produce alternative fuels recovered from waste materials such as paper, cardboard, wood, rubber, and textiles. These fuels are primarily used in the cement and energy industries as more sustainable energy sources.
For our team, it was a valuable opportunity to see what happens in the next stage of the “life” of waste generated in our production process. The visit increased our environmental awareness and highlighted the importance of everyday habits related to proper waste segregation.
